How to draw Cinderella
GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
• Draw the upper border of your drawing. • From the upper border, moving downward, tentatively determine the position of the head and draw an oval to represent its approximate size. • Draw a vertical line through 1/3 of the width of the head. This will be the central vertical line of the figure. • From the upper border of the figure, draw 7 identical segments equal to the height of the head, and one segment equal to 1/4 of the height of the head. The last segment will act as the lower boundary of your drawing. Draw horizontal lines through the boundaries of the segments. • From the central vertical line of the figure, measure and draw: - to the left of the line, 3 segments equal to the width of the head; - to the right of the line, 3 segments equal to the width of the head, and one segment equal to 2/3 of the width of the head. • Through the boundaries of the segments, draw vertical lines. The extreme left and right segments will act as the vertical boundaries of your drawing.

STEP 1. Mark off the width and height of the picture, and the main proportions of Cinderella’s figure. Draw the shape of her head, and a line which will act as its centre.
STEP 2. Outline her torso and neck.
STEP 3. Add guidelines for Cinderella’s arms, foot, and facial features.
STEP 4. Draw the skirt of the dress, her chest, mouth, and the general shape of Cinderella’s hair.
STEP 5. Outline the shapes of Cinderella’s arms, shoe, and eyes. Refine the shapes of the mouth and dress.
STEP 6. Add the fingers, headband, ribbon around the neck, eyebrows, and eye pupils. Delineate the pleats and sleeves. Detail the hem of the skirt as well as Cinderella’s hair and shoe.
STEP 7. Work on the whole figure, adding some extra details. Outline her gloves.
STEP 8. Contour the figure, trying to vary the thickness and darkness of the line. Draw the details carefully. Erase all the guidelines.
